Ahmed Haroun was born in 1964. Born in the state
of North Kordofan, this state is one of the 15 states of Sudan. This state was inhabited by nomads and
pastoralists. Ahmed Haroun comes from a western Sudan tribe called Bargo.
Haroun was a Sudan Politian, first he trained as a
lawyer and in one time he develops the work of Sudan's youngest
minister of state. The International Criminal Court wants
to capture Ahmed, that makes the list of the three Sudanese men’s wanted by
this court, this court accuses Haroun of war crimes and crimes against
humanity, one example of a crime of Haroun against humanity is a participation
of his person in mobilizing and training of tribal fighters to attack civilians
during the counterinsurgency in South Sudan and also he is accused of
participated in the mobilization of the Murahileen militia and the conduct of
military operations in Kordofan during the 1990s.
Haroun also had develop some other works like Minister of State for the
Interior, from April 2003 to September 2005, managed the Darfur Security Desk,
which coordinated different government bodies involved in the counterinsurgency
campaign in Darfur, such as the police, the Janjaweed, the Armed Forces, and
the Intelligence Service, and finally Minister of State for Humanitarian
Affairs from 2006 until 2009.
Haroun allegedly recruited, funded and armed the
Janjaweed militia, and incited attacks against civilian populations. This
militia also controlled rebels in Darfur. They are armed horseman; they use
automatic weapons and grenade launchers.
